Dr. Daniel Soper

I am currently the Professor & Vice-Chair, Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences at California State University, Fullerton.

Although I have taught a wide variety of courses throughout my scholarly career, my current teaching interests lie in the following areas:
- Machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Data science and business analytics
- Database design and management
- Software engineering and programming

My research interests have evolved steadily throughout my scholarly career. The areas in which I am currently interested include:
- Machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Computational linguistics and natural language processing
- Mental models
- Human cognition
- Entropy
- Theory development, usage, and evolution
- The history and evolution of the information systems field
- Interface design
