Thanks for joining me for this short video on the Spellcheck plugin. For Servoy University, I'm Bob Cusick. The Spellcheck plugin works just the way you would expect it to. Here I have a text area that's got a bunch of text in it and I'm going to press the Spellcheck button. And now we have a check dialog box that comes up. I can choose to ignore all instances. I can add this word to the dictionary. I can change this one instance or I can change all of the instances. So I'm going to click change just to that one instance and doll. I'm going to change it to D-U-L-L and I'm going to change that to makes change all. And doll, I'm going to go ahead and change all to doll. Now it says the spelling check is complete. To check the code behind that, it's very simple. There's only one function in the Spellcheck plugin and that's check text component. It doesn't return anything. It just shows the Spell checking component. So you need to pass in the name of the physical element. So here on our main form, anything that you want to check the spelling on must have the name property filled out. You can programmatically go through and get a list of all of the name objects on your form and step through them and spell check them individually or you can spell check just one single element. It's also important to note that there are other third party plugins available that will allow you to do spell checking as well that have a little bit more robust functionality.
